UCAELI Service Learning Fall 2011

This website has been created by the UCAELI Service Learning class of Fall 2011. The class takes place at the University of Connecticut American English Language Institute where adult international students take classes in English language and American culture in order to pursue their academic and career goals.

		During the Fall 2011 semester we visited many service organizations, heard from people who make service a large part of their lives and contributed our time and effort to valuable causes. We spent much time out of the classroom but when we met in the classroom, we did many additional activities: reflected on our experiences watched videos and read articles about service efforts and organizations gave short presentations on service-related topics practiced writing letters and emails asking for information and expressing thanks learned how to interact politely with people in person and on the phone worked on creating this website! On the site you will see photos and read about our experieinces. We hope you enjoy the information and learn something about service and about us!
