Mansfield Public Library
On November 9th, we went to Mansfield Public Library. Ms. Judy Staughton, the children's librarian, greeted us. We met children in the library. The children were between 3 and 6 years old. We broke into four groups. The first group was coloring pictures of international images and flags. The second group was teaching the children how to write their names in Arabic and learning about Arabic culture. The third group was coloring and cutting out Korean paper fans, learning to use chopsticks and writing names in Korean. The last group was making desert and camel pictures with colored craft sand. The children were excited to ask us questions about our countries, and our traditions. One young boy was happy to try on a traditional Arabic head covering (shmagh). We had a great time working with the children and learned how to interact with children.
