On Thursday, October 20, Service Learning Class visited Camp Horizon in South Windham. Camp Horizon is an organization for developmentally disabled children and adults. It supports many active camping program on weekends and summer.
When we visited there, Scott greeted us, and he told us about Camp
Horizon. This organization builds on what campers can do, promotes their
self-esteem, and supports them as they grow. After we listened from
Scott about Camp Horizon, we toured there with Amon.
While we were listening to Amon, we saw cabins, swimming pool,
gymnasium, and so on. Camp Horizon was wider than we had expected, and
we could also see some constructions. Even though we didn't serve there,
we had a good time, and we thought of non-profit organization again.
The more we learned Community Service, the more we understood American
Society.
