On Tuesday, September 27, 2011, we went to Mansfield Fire Department. Officer Carlo Piacentini met and greeted us outside the firehouse. Then he gave us a tour around the firehouse. He took us to every corner of the firehouse.
He started with showing us the fire fighters uniform and he talked about it. He even let some of us to try it on. It was a very interesting experience.
Then he talked about the strong relationship between the fire fighters. Also he added that if any one of them gets hurt the other firefighters will help him, like cut his grass, shovel his walks and bring food to his family.
After that, he took us around the garage showing us the different fire engines. He mentioned how the fire fighters are traditional about their lives, like their vehicles and their items.
Next he took us to an ambulance. We got into it. He described that some of the firemen are also paramedics. He showed us the medical equipment in the ambulance. It was a very interesting experience for us all. We felt special inside the ambulance.
Thanks to Carlo and all the firefighters on Mansfield fire department, we enjoyed our visit.
